Aesthetics of Place in the Palestinian Diaspora Novel “Qabl an Tanam al-Malika” as a Model
Abstract
We aim to shed light on the aesthetics of place in ―Qabl an Tanam al-Malika‖, a novel about the Palestinian diaspora by Palestinian author Hizama Habayyib. Through interpreting the places in the diaspora in the novel, we will attempt to discuss the rhetoric used and its psychological and social projections (and the relationships between them) on the heroine. We should note here that we have drawn upon a framework that views places as an effective component of a narrative, a component that influences and is influenced by other components.
